Middle School Enrichment

Our middle school enrichment is an experiential learning program themed on outdoor adventureenvironmental stewardship and local community service.  We offer field trips and activities such as rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, yoga, as well as instruction in 3D arts, laboratory and natural science. We have offered focused hands on classes that have covered a range of topics and activities such as Hip Hop Dance, Wilderness First Aid and French Cooking! Each semester's offerings vary depending on availability of programming....

Spring 2018 Programming will include outdoor activities and field trips on the following dates:

April 20, April 27, May 18, May 25th, June 1st
We are actively looking for parent volunteers to help us coordinate or set up events or activities on May 4, May 11 and / or June 8th.

Upcoming activities:

April 20th - Tahoe Treetop Adventures - Zip Line, Ropes Course, team building and leadership activities at the Tahoe Vista Location.

June 1st - Rock Climbing and Wilderness First Aid with Tahoe Mountain School

If you have skills, professional contacts, or services or want to volunteer and help us shape and enrich our program please contact carahunt (dot) 2016 (at) gmail.com. As soon as programming is confirmed it will be posted here and emailed to the Middle School parents

This semester we are offering the option to pay only for the activities you sign up for.   We are partnering with more local companies (adventure and outdoor activity providers) to ensure a more professional and reliable experience.  Hiring professional guides and companies may increase the per-day cost significantly, but you only have to pay for the activities you plan to attend.  All of our vendors are offering us significant discounts as we are a local school. And, if the activity is cancelled due to weather or provider emergency, you will be refunded for that event.

What does your enrichment fee cover?  The PTO does not profit from enrichment fees.  We are  a non-profit organization and your enrichment fees go directly to pay activity expenses.  Although we rely heavily on parent and community volunteers in order to keep costs down, our expenses do include equipment and facility rentals, professional services, instructor and activity fees and a small percentage for administration and planning.

If you want your child to attend one or more of these enrichment activities but cannot afford the cost of the class or program, please contact Creekside PTO President Melissa Panico to request a scholarship.  A portion of our PTO funds is always used to subsidize PTO sponsored activities for families in need and no child will be turned away due to financial hardship.  We do also offer trades for those who volunteer to lead or chaperone our activities.
